Memories of Ken
Kenneth G. Petteys July 1, 1905 - November 17, 2007

Ken was always there.

Whenever we covered a strawberry or an apple pie social at the Heritage Museum; the annual winter dinner at the Wishing Well, every meeting of the Wilton seniors, Ken would be there.

Always with a smile.

Charlie Van Rensselaer isn't doing as much dancing this year but Charlie says Ken would go with him to the line dances. Ken didn't join Charlie on the dance floor but his foot would be tapping the beat. Good music this summer though got Ken out on the floor.

Ken loved Wilton and he had served Wilton as a Town Council member and as town supervisor.

When the Wilton Fire Company was founded in 1947 , Ken was there to help. And when the new firehouse on Ballard Road was dedicated, Ken was proud to be there in his uniform as a lifetime member of the Company.

Ken spoke of how important the Company had been to Wilton and how it would continue to serve in the future.

Our last picture of Ken was taken this summer at the Wilton Seniors Summer Picnic. It was Ken in the food line standing tall.

Ken was not a tall man but he always stood tall in Wilton.
