Lots of excitement, passion and good sportsmanship every Wednesday and Saturday at Gavin park in Wilton.
Those are the days when over 300 kids from age 5 to 15 learn the fundamentals of soccer. It's all part of the new soccer program which the Rec Department with the help of Saratoga-Wilton Youth Soccer has started this Fall.
With the support shown this fall the Rec Department will hopefully be continuing the program in spring 2008.
That depends on scheduling and availability of fields. Watch the Wilton Report for details or call Gavin Park 584-9455.
The kids are assigned teams matched up for age - and each kid gets a neat soccer team shirt and a soccer ball to practice with at home.
Lots of teams - and they all have different colored shirts - Go Reds!!! Kids learn team play and sportsmanship - right from the get-go. Lots of parents involved - but the program can always use interested parents who want to help. Call the Park for details.
The program ends November 10 with a tournament. Then it's wait until next spring. See you then.
