The need is there. And with Congressman Chris Gibson and Senator Roy McDonald featured 38 local organizations joined them December 10 at the Wilton Mall for the First Disability Awareness Day.
People with special needs frequently do not know who to contact or what else is available. Wounded Warrior was one of the organization and they had words of support and help not only for our returning veterans but for anyone with disabling handicaps.
Both Congressman Gibson and Senator McDonald emphasized if you had not been able to speak to them at the Mall, they and their staffs were ready to help. Local number for Congressman Gibson is 581-8247; McDonald 455-2381.
Disability Awareness Day will be back at the Wilton Mall in 2012.
